Here is a list of my top 10 art related youtubers! These are not in any particular order, they are assorted randomly on this list! Now let's dig in!
Jess Karp
Jess Karp, is a brilliant artist and youtuber! Her art is absolutely beautiful and she has swept the feet of her audience away with her stunning works, her cinematic abilities and her bright personality!Jess is super positive, and always preaches love and gratitude, which reflects in her work. She has the cutest studio buddy, her cat Matilda, with her most of the time, and it's adorable to watch!
Jess works with almost all mediums, but she does have a soft spot for oil painting, gouache and colored pencils! Her videos are everything from educational to inspirational! She does art hauls, studio vlogs, 100 challenges, sketchbook dates and so much more! She seems driven about her career, and passionate about teaching others the beautiful wonders of art. Jess is everything I'm looking for in a classic art youtuber, and I'm so glad I found her back in 2020 during the pandemic. Jess has a youtube channel, instagram and her own website with a shop connected. She also has a patreon!
Nerdforge
Nerdforge - run by Martina and Hansi is a real epic channel with just as epic length and detailed projects, and now also epic in size!
Martina, (the main character of the channel, if you will) takes on super interesting projects of all kinds! Everything from dioramas, to huge murals, painting challenges, and now she had just built a 3 meter tall “robot” (It doesn't move, but that would be wild if it did!)
Hansi is in the background working and helping Martina with LED lights for her builds, using the Blender 3D software, and just all in all supporting her with her crazy sized projects!
They are a great duo, and super entertaining to watch, their personalities are like your favorite meme, in a good way of course! They also go on trips to the mountain peaks of Norway and deep within the forest, usually bringing their cute dog!
I have known about Nerdforge since 2016, but have first started constantly watching them back in 2022. I only wish I started binging their videos sooner!Nerdforge Has a youtube channel, an Instagram, and a paterion! They also have a shop with merch!
DrawingWiffWaffles
Rin, the creator of DrawingWiffWaffles, has unfortunately been offline, and has not updated for about a year now, due to some serious health issues. She suffers from a pretty bad autoimmune disease, and needs time and patience, which I and her audience are completely chill with.
Her thumbnails are colorful and intriguing, and her channel is filled with upbeat, wholesome, and unapologetic unperfect content and videos! She is like a ray of sunshine with her cute personality and entertaining videos. She mostly draws her own characters that she makes up on the spot! She loves using alcohol based markers like Copic and Ohuhu, and has become pretty good at it since her sparse beginnings with alcohol markers way back in the day!Her content consists of art subscription box unboxing, character design challenges, redraws, and sketchbook tours!
Nobody knows when or if Rin will be back, but her channel is definitely still worth a visit, and I personally love going back to her older videos from the time where I discovered her content, back in 2018!
DrawingWiffWaffles has a Youtube channel, instagram, a facebook, and her own website.
Lighting Mentor
The Lighting Mentor channel is created by Jeremy Vickery, who has worked on a lot of major productions such as animated movies and videogames.
He is a professional digital artist with more than 25 years of experience under his belt!
He is a chill and down to earth teacher, who explains lighting and color of digital artwork very well. He is easily understandable, and comes with an explanation for everything he does, so you are never left in the dust.He does some speed paintings and follow along’s, so you can watch and learn for yourself. He also does recolor videos and digital plein air painting videos. I found Lighting Mentor back when the channel was called Light Ponderings, and had just started up in 2022.
Lighting Mentor has a Youtube channel and a website.
Alpay Efe
Alpay Efe is a brilliant Oil painter of the modern kind! His female portraits with an sort of abstract but simple background is probably what he is mostly known for.But that's not all he does, he for example, makes a lot of videos that explains very unapologetically how it really is to be a professional artist in the modern world.
His early videos contain a lot of oil painting tips, his later, newer videos, he shares a lot of secrets and behind the scenes of the artist's life.He has a calm voice and is a great content creator, entertaining wise.
I found Alpay in 2022, when I was looking for “what I wish I knew as a beginner artist” videos, and was absolutely blown away by his talent and hard work! He is definitely worth a visit!Alpay has a Youtube channel, facebook, instagram, a website and a patreon!
LethalChris Drawing
LethalChris, has an incredibly detailed and intricate artstyle. His work is beautiful, yet seeming so effortless to him.Chris had a rough time a little year back, with serious burnout and personal things. But he seems to be back now, hopefully not pushing himself to burnout and just doing his best and what he can right now! He is probably mostly known for speed drawings of fanart, his tutorials in pencil, and his Inktober sketchbook tours. His inktober sketches are created in sketchbooks with brown toned paper, and let me say, it adds a nice atmosphere to his copic and ink drawings!I found his channel back in 2019, and I enjoy watching Chris’ drawings whenever I'm feeling sloppy in my work and I need a little push, in a more patient direction.
LethalChris has a Youtube channel, and instagram, a facebook, DeviantART, and a website/shop!
Great Art Explained
Great Art Explained, created by James Payne, is a art history channel, with, as the title indicates, all the great artwork throughout time, explained. James, refers to himself as a gallerist and a passionate art lover, which you can clearly feel in his videos. The video is like a short n’ sweet, but yet detailed and intriguing art history lesson, on a level where everyone can follow!I enjoy looking up specific artwork or old masters and artists I find fascinating, like Frida Kahlo and Monet, and getting to know them and their work a little better throughout his videos!I wasn't much into art history before I found his channel, back in 2023, but now It has made me want to buy books and learn so much more, and understand why the old masters worked the way they did! If you are into art in the slightest and want to learn more about art history, give his channel a go, you most likely won't regret it!Great Art Explained has a Youtube Channel, an Instagram and a Patreon.
Jazza
Now, did you really think I could make a list like this without the youtube art community legend, Jazza?Previously his channel was called DrawingWithJazza, when he worked from his home studio, but he changed to just Jazza after getting and building his own studio and empire on a separate lot and hiring employees. He definitely made it!Jazza (real name Josiah) started his channel back in 2012 with what most art youtubers did back then, short animations and tutorials!Jazza does everything creative, not just painting and drawing, but also sculpting, designing, art science (have you ever seen the inside of a copic marker?) and so much more!He has a chill but fun personality that draws people's attention, which is probably also why at this point in time he has over 6.5 million subscribers worldwide!
I was first referred to Jazas channel back in 2015 by some old friends, but actually first started watching him regularly in 2018. Some of his content is hilarious to watch while some is more wholesome, and some is just downright crazy!
He also has a second channel which is more of a vlogging channel / behind the scenes channel, where he talks directly to the camera in the mood he is in for the day.Jazza has a Youtube channel, a facebook and his own website/shop/studiosite.
Correa Art
Correa Art is a bit different from the other channels as there is no talking during the videos.Correr advertises themselves as a channel for everyone who wants to learn how to paint. They do videos where they show how they mix every color they use during each painting! Plus, they do so by only using the same 4 colors and black & white, every time! They paint in acrylic which I love since that's one of my preferred mediums to work with, and I like to see how others approach the process.Their painting motives are absolutely gorgeous everytime, no matter if it's a landscape or flowers, birds, or anything else!I discovered Correa Art in the beginning of 2023, and have them running in the background while I paint so I can listen to the soothing music from the videos, and occasionally be astonished by how they just made a blob look like a basket full of flowers in the meantime while I looked away!
Correa Art has a Youtube Channel, Instagram and an Etsy.
SLEW
Last but not least we have SLEW!I discovered slew, through Jess Karp as they made a video together, and I just love his vibe and his personality.Slew is a traditional artist, and a videographer who currently has residence in New York.
It seems like his preferred medium is Oil paint but that doesn't stop him from experimenting with other materials as well.He has hosted an art podcast and also hosted a sort of an open art school.
Both of which are documented in videos on his channel.
Slew started out back in 2011 by doing graffiti art videos and now he has evolved into a fine-arts artist!
I'm excited to see where Slew’s journey takes his career as he is in the process of moving studio! I guess we’ll just have to stick around and watch! SLEW has a Youtube channel, an Instagram, his own website and a Patreon.
Thank you so much for reading! If you read from top to bottom I applaud you cause that was a good chunk of letters!I hope you learned something new or discovered someone new and can at least agree with me about just one of them being great! ;)Give these lovely peoples channels a look, subscribe if you wish, I’m pretty sure they’d love it!I ofcourse… Hm ofcourse… Watch more than these 10 youtubers, but as to not make the post continue forever I had to shorten it down to 10 only.Which art-related youtubers do you like to watch?
